The Institute for Relational and Interactional Studies is committed to furthering the study of and research in Cybernetics, Communication, and System Theory as applied in understanding human behavior and Interactional/Systemic therapy. 


Wendel A. Ray Ph.D, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, is the Frances Davis Hammond Endowed Professor of Education, and Professor of Family System Theory in the Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral and master degree programs, at The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). A Senior Research Fellow and former Director of the Mental Research Institute (MRI) in Palo Alto, California, in 1987 Dr. Ray founded and was first Director of the Don D. Jackson Archive of Systemic Literature. He currently serves as Senior Archivist for the Archive.
